Shalamar

Shalamar is an R&B and soul group formed in Los Angeles in 1977 by Soul Train creator Don Cornelius and Dick Griffey. Its disco, funk and boogie hits were sung by the classic lineup of Howard Hewett, Jeffrey Daniel and Jody Watley. The albums "Big Fun" (1979) and "Three for Love" (1980) went gold, and Daniel's body-popping on Top of the Pops helped introduce the dance to the UK.
