Salt-N-Pepa is an American hip-hop group formed in New York City in 1985 by Cheryl "Salt" James and Sandra "Pepa" Denton, later joined by DJ Spinderella. The group scored hits with "Push It" (1987), "Let's Talk About Sex" (1990), "Shoop" (1993) and "Whatta Man" with En Vogue. "Very Necessary" (1993) was their best-selling album, and they entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2025.
