Ron Carter

Ron Carter, born in 1937 in Ferndale, Michigan, is an American jazz double bassist and the most recorded bassist in jazz. He works in hard bop and post bop, leading ensembles that range from trio to big band. Carter anchored Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet from 1963 to 1968, has played on more than 2,000 recording sessions and has won three Grammy Awards.
