Red Nova

Red Nova is a free jazz trio from Honolulu made up of Peter Shaindlin on trumpet and flugelhorn, Randy Wong on acoustic bass and Jay Jaskot on drums. The group plays entirely improvised sets, without set keys or written material. Their live debut album "Presence of Mind", recorded at Hawaii Public Radio's Atherton Studio, was a Na Hoku Hanohano Award finalist. They have held residencies at Blue Note Hawaii.
