Ratboys are an American indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2010 by vocalist Julia Steiner and guitarist Dave Sagan. Their sound blends twangy alt-country, folk, and effervescent indie rock driven by Steiner's narrative songwriting. "The Window" (2023) brought wider acclaim; their sixth album, "Singin' to an Empty Chair" (2026), explores estrangement and emotional honesty. Their live shows pair confident, heartfelt performances with the band's Midwestern warmth.
