Quicksand is a post-hardcore band formed in New York City in 1990 by Walter Schreifels, with members drawn from the city's hardcore scene. Its sound mixes post-hardcore with alternative metal and has often been compared to Fugazi and Helmet. The debut "Slip" (1993) and "Manic Compression" (1995) preceded a split, and after reforming in 2012 the band released "Interiors" (2017) and "Distant Populations" (2021) on Epitaph.
