Polyrhythmics

Polyrhythmics is a seven-piece funk band from Seattle, Washington. Its sound grew out of Seattle's underground deep funk scene, pairing tight grooves with bold brass and hypnotic percussion that draws on R&B, progressive jazz and Afrobeat. The band describes its later direction as psych-funk, ranging from bright, cinematic Fela-influenced grooves to a darker, more progressive palette.
