O.A.R., short for Of A Revolution, is an American rock band formed in Rockville, Maryland, in 1996. The five-piece mixes alternative and roots rock, with a saxophone as a standing part of the lineup. "Shattered (Turn the Car Around)", from "All Sides" (2008), reached number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band built its following on the road, letting fans record and trade recordings of its concerts.
