Neurosis in San Francisco

Neurosis is an American band formed in Oakland, California, in 1985 by Scott Kelly, Dave Edwardson and Jason Roeder. Starting out in hardcore punk, they brought in doom metal and industrial sounds and became pioneers of post-metal and sludge metal. "Souls at Zero" (1992) and "Through Silver in Blood" (1996) defined that sound, which bands such as Mastodon, Converge and Isis cite as a major influence.
