Moodymann

Moodymann is the stage name of Detroit house producer Kenny Dixon Jr., a foundational figure in the city's underground since the 1990s. His productions fuse disco, jazz, and soul samples with drum programming and blues-tinged Detroit house and techno grooves. He founded KDJ Records and Mahogani Music, and released landmark albums including Silentintroduction (1997) and Mahogany Brown (1998). Live he is famously elusive, often performing masked and letting the music speak for itself.
