Mimi Roman

Mimi Roman is a country and rockabilly singer born Miriam Rothman in Brooklyn in 1934, billed as the Brooklyn Cowgirl. Clear-channel radio hooked her on Nashville country, leading to Decca sessions produced by Owen Bradley with Chet Atkins on guitar. She recorded for Decca from 1954 to 1958 and cut pop sides as Kitty Ford; archival sets "First of the Brooklyn Cowgirls" and "Pussycat" came out on Sundazed in 2022. Live, she toured with Gene Autry and Johnny Cash and sings her Decca hits with revival bands.
