Matt Sargent (b. 1984) is a New York composer, guitarist, and recording engineer who teaches at Bard College. His music builds on resonance, recursive systems, and long-form patterns. He released "Ghost Music" (2018) and composed "Wooden Cathedral" (2026) for solo bass, recorded basses, and electronics from Machaut and cathedral material. Live sets pair solo bass with recorded layers and real-time electronics.
