Massamba Diop

Massamba Diop is a Senegalese master of the tama talking drum and a founding percussionist in Baaba Maal's band Daande Lenol. His Wolof-rooted playing shaped Afropop and mbalax fusion on Baaba Maal's decades of global touring. His work appears on the Black Panther soundtracks and he co-founded the Senegal-America Project with Tony Vacca. Live sets pair explosive talking-drum dialogue with the ritual forest voices of West African percussion.
