Mark Farina

Mark Farina is a Chicago born DJ and producer known for Chicago house, acid jazz and downtempo music. He coined the style mushroom jazz, blending West Coast jazzy beats, acid jazz grooves and hip hop with Chicago house. His Mushroom Jazz club night launched in San Francisco in 1992 and grew into a long running compilation series on Om Records. His DJ sets are celebrated for seamless transitions, funky instrumental hip hop and soulful downtempo house.
