Mark Chesnutt is a neotraditional country singer and songwriter from Beaumont, Texas. His honky-tonk records blend Western swing and hard-country storytelling, often compared to George Jones. Major-label hits such as "Too Cold at Home" (1990) and eight Billboard country number ones marked his 1990s peak. Live, he is known for smooth, barroom-rooted vocals and straight-ahead country sets.
