Mares of Thrace is a doom metal band from Calgary, Alberta, built around vocalist and guitarist Therese Lanz. Calgary promoters bill its sound as outsider hardcore doom. Its second album "The Pilgrimage" (2012), after the debut "The Moulting" (2010), was longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Following a long hiatus, the band returned with "The Exile" (2022) on Sonic Unyon.
