Marcus Miller is a New York bassist, composer, and producer whose funk-jazz style shaped modern R&B and jazz fusion. He rose through session work with Miles Davis on Tutu before a solo career spanning albums such as M2, which won the 2002 Grammy for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. He has played on more than five hundred recordings for artists from Michael Jackson to Luther Vandross. Festival sets showcase his virtuosic bass and genre-blending improvisations.
