Live is an alternative rock band formed in York, Pennsylvania, in 1984 and fronted by singer and guitarist Ed Kowalczyk. Its songs mix post-grunge guitars with contemplative, spiritual lyrics, partly inspired by the philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti. The 1994 album "Throwing Copper" sold eight million copies in the US and produced "Lightning Crashes", and "Secret Samadhi" (1997) debuted at number one.
