Lisa Lisa

r&b

Lisa Lisa is a New York-born singer who rose to fame in the 1980s as the vocalist of Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, a pioneering freestyle group. Her sound blends freestyle, R&B, and pop, riding glossy production and her soulful, emotive vocals over dancefloor-ready hooks. With Cult Jam she landed pop and R&B chart-toppers including "Head to Toe," "Lost in Emotion," and "Let the Beat Hit 'Em." After the group disbanded in 1991, she continued as a solo artist on freestyle and R&B bills.
