Kentucky Thunder

Kentucky Thunder is the bluegrass band that backs American singer and mandolin player Ricky Skaggs, formed in 1997. The group plays traditional bluegrass in an acoustic style built on tight vocal harmony. Recording as Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, they won Grammy Awards for Best Bluegrass Album with "Bluegrass Rules!" (1997), "Ancient Tones" (1999) and "Brand New Strings" (2004).
