John Hewitt is a folk and Americana singer-songwriter from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, based in Edmonton, who leads the band the New Americans. Rooted in traditional folk, his songs tell old tales of prairie murder and historical stories with poetic imagery in the vein of the 1960s folk revival.
