John Gunther

John Gunther is a Denver saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist who leads a trio with pianist Dawn Clement and drummer Dru Heller. His music moves between quiet beauty, rhythmic play, open improvisation, and cinematic sweep across saxophone, flute, bass clarinet, and electronics. He released "Painting the Dream" on Origin Records, dedicated to trumpeter Ron Miles and his mother, painter Judy Gunther. Live trio sets pair lyrical, spacious improvisation with richly colored piano and drums.
