Jeff Lorber

Jeff Lorber is an American jazz keyboardist, composer, and producer from Philadelphia who helped pioneer contemporary jazz and smooth jazz. His music blends funk, R&B, rock, and electric jazz into groove-driven instrumentals built around piano, Rhodes, and synthesizers. He founded the Jeff Lorber Fusion in 1977 and won a Grammy for "Prototype" (2017); the group's 1980 album "Wizard Island" featured saxophonist Kenny G. His live sets are known for tight funk grooves, often in collaborative formats such as Jazz Funk Soul.
