Herbie Hancock

Herbie Hancock is an American jazz pianist, keyboardist, and composer born in Chicago in 1940. His work spans post-bop with the Miles Davis Quintet to fusion and funk on albums like "Head Hunters" (1973). Standards such as "Cantaloupe Island" and "Maiden Voyage" anchor a catalog shaped by synthesizers and electronic experimentation. Performances range across acoustic elegance, cosmic Mwandishi-era exploration, and dance-floor funk.
