Helado Negro is the project of Roberto Carlos Lange, an American musician born in South Florida to Ecuadorian immigrant parents. His bilingual English and Spanish songs blend ambient pop, Latin folk, and experimental electronic textures. Albums include "This Is How You Smile" (2019) on 4AD and "Phasor" (2024); "Young, Latin and Proud" explored Latinx identity. His live shows span solo ambient pop sets and the Helado Tropical collaboration with Reyna Tropical.
