Haruomi Hosono in Austin

Haruomi Hosono is a Japanese musician, producer and composer, born in Tokyo in 1947 and a founding member of Happy End and Yellow Magic Orchestra. His work moves between folk rock, exotica, electronic pop and experimental songcraft, and he is credited with helping shape city pop. He has recorded under his own name since ”Hosono House” (1973), and reissues in 2018 brought his catalogue to Western listeners.
