GZA is an American rapper and founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan, known as "The Genius" for dense wordplay and complex metaphors. Born Gary Grice in Brooklyn, he is a cousin of RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard and regarded as the group's lyrical anchor. His 1995 solo album "Liquid Swords" is celebrated for dark, cinematic production and chess-themed imagery. Live sets often center on that album in full.
