Gretchen Parlato

Gretchen Parlato is an American jazz vocalist from Los Angeles, known for intimate phrasing shaped by bossa nova and Brazilian music. Her sound blends jazz, R&B, and improvisation. She won the 2004 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition and released "In a Dream" (2009) and "Flor" (2021). Live sets feature her quartet with Gerald Clayton, Alan Hampton, and Mark Guiliana.
