Gene Loves Jezebel is a British rock band formed in the early 1980s by twin brothers Jay and Michael Aston. Early work sits in gothic rock and post-punk, later shifting toward new wave and hard rock. The 1983 album "Promise" reached the UK indie chart and "Discover" (1986) entered the UK top 40 with singles such as "Desire (Come and Get It)". Shows mix brooding romance with dance-floor drive from their 1980s peak.
