Gaerea is a Portuguese post-black metal band formed in Porto in 2016. They call their sound cathartic black metal, with extended screams, shifting tempos and themes of depression and liberation. After Unsettling Whispers (2018), they released Limbo (2020) and Mirage (2022) on Season of Mist, then Loss (2026) on Century Media. Live, the anonymous masked five piece pairs blast beats with theatrical, charged sets.
