Flipper is a punk band formed in San Francisco in 1979, known as an early force in noise rock and hardcore punk. Their slowed-down, bass-driven and heavily distorted take on punk is considered an inspiration for the Melvins and Nirvana. The debut "Generic Flipper" (1982) was followed by "Gone Fishin'" (1984), and Nirvana's Krist Novoselic played bass on "Love" (2009).
