Fanoos Ensemble is an Afghan classical group in the United States led by vocalist Ahmad Fanoos, pianist Elham Fanoos, and violinist Mehran Fanoos. Tabla player Sohail Karimi joins them in music that pairs Persian poetry, Hindustani rhythms, and Afghan folk with Western harmony. The family reunited in America in 2021 and debuted there in 2022. Shows mix repertoire with improvisation on Afghan and Western instruments.
