El Khat is a junkyard band led by multi-instrumentalist Eyal El Wahab, whose original compositions draw on the golden age of music in Aden, Yemen. The group plays largely on self-made instruments while staying rooted in traditional Yemeni percussion, a mix Uncut has described as adding psych-rock energy and noisy experimentalism. Its albums include "Saadia Jefferson", "Albat Alawi Op.99" and "Mute".
