Donny McCaslin is an American jazz saxophonist from California who came up through Gary Burton's band and Steps Ahead. His tenor sound bridges post-bop virtuosity with art-rock intensity and electronic-modernist textures. He played on David Bowie's "Blackstar" (2016), then channeled that experience into his album "Beyond Now." Live work spans leader projects and large-ensemble settings such as the Michael Brecker Quindectet.
