Dinosaur Jr. is an American alternative rock band formed in Amherst, Massachusetts, in 1984 by J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph. Their sound joins classic rock influences with extreme volume, feedback and distortion under Mascis's drawling vocals. Albums such as "You're Living All Over Me" (1987) and "Bug" (1988) shaped 1990s indie rock, and the original lineup reunited in 2005.
