Death is a Detroit proto-punk band formed in 1971 by brothers David, Bobby, and Dannis Hackney. Their fast guitar-driven songs helped define early punk before the group stopped in 1977. Drag City released the 1975 sessions as "...For the Whole World to See" in 2009, sparking a reunion led by Bobby and Dannis. Live sets draw on that catalog and "III" (2014), often with the Hackneys' sons on guitar.
