Dead Kennedys
rockalternative rock
Dead Kennedys are a punk rock band formed in San Francisco in 1978, one of the first hardcore punk bands. Their lyrics pair biting social satire with a staunchly left-wing view of America, in songs like "Holiday in Cambodia" and "California Über Alles." The debut "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" (1980) remains their landmark, and the band re-formed without singer Jello Biafra in 2001.
