Commodores are an American funk and soul group formed at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama in 1968. Their sound spans funk, soul, R&B, and pop, from brassy dance tracks to Lionel Richie-era ballads. Motown hits include "Brick House" (1977), "Easy", and "Three Times a Lady"; "Nightshift" (1985) won their Grammy. Live, they mix classic funk grooves with smooth vocal harmonies honed over decades of touring.
