Christian Sands is a jazz pianist and composer from New Haven, Connecticut, on Mack Avenue Records. His playing draws on post-bop and swing while folding in gospel, soul, and blues grooves. His 2020 album "Be Water" earned a Grammy nomination for "Be Water II," and he later recorded the holiday set "Christmas Stories." In trio sets he leads a working quartet with guitarist Marvin Sewell, bassist Yasushi Nakamura, and drummer Ryan Sands.
