Baalti

Baalti is a producer and DJ duo, Mihir Chauhan and Jaiveer Singh, Indian-born and Brooklyn-based, making underground dance music from South Asian roots. Their sound pairs UK-leaning club rhythms with samples from Bengali disco, Gujarati folk and Hindustani classical in lo-fi, percussion-heavy house. The self-titled EP "Baalti" came out on Krunk Kulture in 2021, followed by "Better Together" in 2023. Live, they DJ sets built from the same crate-dug samples and layered drums.
