Asleep At the Wheel

Asleep at the Wheel is an Austin-based Western swing band founded in 1970 in Paw Paw, West Virginia, by Ray Benson, who still fronts it. The band has won eight Grammy Awards, two of them for the Bob Wills tribute "Ride with Bob" (1999), and scored its highest-charting single with "The Letter That Johnny Walker Read" in 1975. It has appeared on Austin City Limits a record ten times.
