Amythyst Kiah in Evanston

Amythyst Kiah is a Chattanooga-born singer-songwriter who bridges Appalachian old-time roots with confessional alternative rock on guitar and banjo. Her deep, resonant voice and sharp picking fuse fuzzed-out guitars, pedal steel, and folk tradition into darkly cinematic songs. "Wary + Strange" (2021) landed on Rolling Stone's best country and Americana albums list, and she followed with "Still + Bright" (2024). Concerts highlight her place in the African-American old-time lineage and her commanding, range-shifting vocals.
