Amy Lavere

Amy LaVere is a Memphis-based Americana singer, songwriter, and upright bassist whose sweet soprano contrasts with barbed, sharp-edged storytelling. Her recordings pair percussive upright bass with roots songwriting spanning albums such as "This World Is Not My Home" (2006). Collaborations include the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Luther Dickinson, and Valerie June, and live sets with guitarist Will Sexton showcase spellbinding bass-driven duo performances.
