Amina Figarova Sextet with Matsiko World Orphan Choir in New Orleans

This project pairs the sextet of Azerbaijani-born composer, pianist and bandleader Amina Figarova, based in New Orleans by way of New York, with the Matsiko World Orphan Choir of orphaned and at-risk children from Liberia. The music grew from a suite Figarova wrote for a children's choir and her sextet, performed at the Joy of Jazz Festival in Johannesburg in 2018.
