Álvaro Torres is a Salvadoran Latin pop singer-songwriter from Usulután who has recorded since the 1970s. His romantic ballads explore love and loss in a soft pop style. Nada Se Compara Contigo (1991) was a breakthrough; he duetted with Selena on Buenos amigos and won BMI Songwriter of the Year in 1994. Live shows stack those hits into long romantic song sets.
