Coachella Weekend 1 is the first of two identical weekends of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Founded in 1999 by Paul Tollett and promoted by Goldenvoice, it spans rock, pop, indie, hip hop and electronic music alongside art installations. The two weekend format dates from 2012, with each weekend running three days in April on the same lineup.
