The Motorists, Georgia Chess, Stella Gray

Stella Gray makes pop with teeth. Unhinged music for hot girls with questionable decisions and excellent taste. She’s an Aussie artist freshly based in LA after being in NYC, writing about all the things you’re probably pretending not to think about. https://linktr.ee/stellagray Georgia Chess, woman-out-of-time, is restless in modernity. A Los Angeles native and music-school dropout, she folds her 1960s stylings into her art-rock sensibilities, building rockabilly wonderlands nestled somewhere between Connie Francis and the Arctic Monkeys. Channeling the emotional candor and dark grime of 90s songwriters like Fiona Apple and Elliot Smith, Chess writes songs steeped in frustrated femininity, songs that ache and seethe with obsession and hushed indignation. On her 2025 debut Out the Hat, distorted guitar, complex harmonies, and ornate wordplay trumpet the arrival of an artist who refuses to be polite or easy to ignore. iamgeorgiachess.com The Motorists are a local SoCal rock band founded by guitarist Jonathan Gilbert and drummer Paul Watts. They soon recruited vocalist Joshua Hayes and completed the lineup with bassist Paul Watts. Combining alt and hard rock aesthetics with classic rock roots, they have played at various venues in the LA area, including The Viper Room, Bar Lubitsch, and Universal Bar and Grill. @the.motorists
