Stafford Hunter-Tom Ball Euphonium Jazz Quintet with Daniel Moran-Piano, Gonzalo Teppa-Bass, Todd Reid-Drums Stafford & Tom (longtime NYC friends) will explore some popular jazz standards, arrangements and original compositions using one of the unusual frontline instruments in jazz; the euphonium. The instrument is in the same brass family and range as the trombone; while it looks like a miniature tuba. It can produce a smooth, beautiful tone or get down-right raunchy. And the horns will be backed by some of Colorado's first call rhythm section players. This will surely be a one of a kind show not to miss.
