About the concert
CLUB GAUCHE, a night focusing on leftfield sonic explorations with a dancefloor mentality.
gauche (adjective) /ɡōSH/: crude, tacky, or boorish - originating from French meaning 'left'
Think wobbly bass, dollar bin house, off-kilter steppers, & weirdo gems...the idea is to provide a space for bizarre blends, embrace risk taking, and celebrate left turns, 'bad' taste, and embracing faux pas, both outside and within the beloved walls of 4/4 house, bass, & techno
The Sanctuary at Epiphany Arts Center
201 S Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60607
9pm - 2:30am
$15 earlybird / $20 GA

Sobolik is a Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, and musician that has emerged as one of the most exciting voices in the US underground. They craft vibrant, drum-focused music in an array of different styles, releasing music on labels from around the globe including Clasico Records, All Centre, CloudCore, early reflex, Flippen Disks, 3024, Woozy. Sobolik's output fuses a broad palette of references from UK bass & club music, techno, and breaks. As a member of the Antidote and Kindergarten collectives, they work to connect the dots among like-minded artists in the Brooklyn rave ecosystem. They currently hold a Lot Radio residency with the Kindergarten crew and co-organize the queer day rave Antidote.
Mecániko is a Chicago-based collaboration between J. Córdova and Liquid City Motors, producing boundary-pushing, hybrid club music with impressive sound design.
Club Chow is a Chicago-based DJ with roots in Baltimore and Taipei. An omnivorous selector, he digs for new and old school house, blending music across genres and eras with a common euphoric undercurrent. Club Chow's taste and energetic mixing have made him a staple at SmartBar and Podlasie Club, a resident of Steamworks bathhouse, and a sought-after guest DJ at queer underground parties across North America.
Craig Gronowski is a lighting and interior designer with a penchant for textures, layers, and storylines. Mood, space, and night specific - each installtion considers lighting vs. physical materiality.
