We’re happy to welcome Pittsburgh’s own purveyor of dance-powered synthesis Shawn Rudiman for a special live set touching upon his love of industrial, downtempo, sci-fi ambience, & more!!!

Renowned worldwide for his unique live performances of Detroit-inflected hi-tech funk, Shawn’s music has been synonymous with rustbelt machine music for the better part of 4 decades, releasing beloved records on Technoir Audio, 7th City, Detroit Techno Milita, Pittsburgh Tracks, & beyond, honing in on his dedication to electric communion with machine, audience, & self.

We can’t wait hear what he’ll bring to the entrancing confines of Bantha Tea Bar…

Equally synonymous with Pittsburgh in the worlds of hip hop, funk, & deep house, Buscrates will perform a special groovy, funky, & spacey experimental collab set with Daia!

As a musician, DJ and producer, Buscrates has been making music in some form since practically before he could walk and started rocking parties behind the decks since he was in single digits. Initially inspired early on by the music emanating from his father’s sound system, his sound encompasses many experiences as he has honed the two major poles of his musical inspiration: classic boom-bap hip-hop and the endlessly colorful world of synth-crazy post-disco boogie-funk!

Daia has been heard all around Pittsburgh organizing & performing at gatherings bridging gaps between dance, noise, & anything goes sonic expansions in various guises. We’re elated to hear how they close out the night in this expansive duo

resident Damsel of Distress Kiernan Laveaux will be serenading the early listeners of the night with vibrational patterns for a new world b/w songs to fan the flames of discontent + visuals by resident daddy Malzof
